Two primary schools in the east starting this September
Preparations are underway for the merging of two primary schools in the east starting this September.
Director of Education, Clare Browne, has confirmed that the union between the Newfield and Bethesda Primary Schools is as a result of the low student population in both institutions.
Currently there are 26 students at the Bethesda Primary School and 44 at the Newfield Primary School.
He says the situation has been ongoing for a while
Browne says the issue of uniform to be worn at the merged institution is still being worked out.
Meanwhile, the Director of education says the situation at the Freetown Primary is being monitored; there are 49 students enrolled there.
