UNITED NATIONS PRAISES ANTIGUA & BARBUDA’S MULTILATERALISM EFFORTS

The United Nations has ranked Antigua & Barbuda as the second-best country with support for the U.N.’s multilateralism efforts.

This Index which forms part of the Sustainable Development Report evaluates countries on their commitment to the principles and activities of the United Nations.

These include treaty ratification, voting patterns at the U.N. General Assembly, membership in UN organizations, involvement in conflicts and militarization, use of unilateral sanctions, and financial contributions to the U.N.

With a score of 91.1, Antigua & Barbuda is surpassed only by Barbados in the Index while, by contrast, the United States of America is among the ten countries least committed to U.N.-based multilateralism, with a score of 15.8.
