UNITED STATES REMOVES SANCTIONS FROM ALFA NERO SUPER YACHT
The United States has removed the Alfa Nero super yacht from its sanctions list, in another development being welcomed by the Government of Antigua and Barbuda, which now owns the vessel.
The news was communicated to Prime Minister, Hon. Gaston Browne on Thursday by ambassador to the United States, Sir Ronald Sanders.
It means the vessel is no longer on the list of Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons (SDN) of the Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).
Sir Ronald also thanks the US Treasury for its full cooperation in resolving this matter, and says “in all this, the guidance and support of Prime Minister Gaston Browne was a key factor.”
Sir Ronald spoke with ABS News from Washington D.C. Thursday evening.
