Update on New Airport Terminal
Antigua and Barbuda’s Non Resident Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China is pleased with the updated level of work that has been carried out on the new airport facility.
David Shoul reveals that although some challenges slowed the pace of construction at the facility, work is progressing smoothly.
He added that much needed equipment has arrived on island and more is expected shortly, as work goes into high gear, to ensure the completion of the state of the art complex for the year 2014.
Shoul says the weather has also contributed to the smooth flow of operations, as the construction has not been affected by any hurricanes or storms.
The new terminal will boast three jet bridges – a first in the OECS region – as well as more space for airlines, airport security personnel and immigration.
The US$45 million project is being financed by the People’s Republic of China.
