Used Car Ban To Be Implemented In March
The government’s new policy regarding the importation of used cars more than 5 years old will now take effect from next March.
This comes after Cabinet reviewed its decision to implement the ban with immediate effect.
Chief of Staff Lionel Max Hurst says taking into consideration the public sentiments, it was in the best interest of all, to have the date pushed back.
Hurst says that Minister of Environment, Hon. Molwyn Joseph, is of the view that an age limit must be placed on vehicles imported into the country and it was decided that 5 years will be the limit.
Environment levy will be increased from $4000 to $6000.
