VENEZUELAN AMBASSADOR RAISES CONCERN ABOUT US NAVAL BUILD-UP

Venezuela’s ambassador to Antigua and Barbuda, Carmen Velasquez, is calling on Caribbean nations to speak out against what it describes as an alarming US military build-up in the region.

The South American nation, which is a close ally of most Caricom states, says American forces stationed near its waters pose a threat to peace and sovereignty across the Caribbean.

The issue was discussed at an information session held by the Venezuelan Embassy on Old Parham Road Tuesday afternoon.
