‘WE NOW HAVE CRICKETERS THAT ARE LIKE HALF-BAKED’ – SIR CLIVE LLOYD ON KEY CHALLENGE FACING WINDIES
Former West Indies captain, Sir Clive Lloyd says many of the cricketers in the West Indies set-up are “not professional as such.” He says this is because they have not benefitted from the mix of domestic and county cricket experience as did cricketers in his era.
Sir Clive says this results in veritably “half-baked” cricketers who often fall short of the expectations of regional administrators and fans. He explains these cricketers would therefore need a longer time to get to the expected standards.
Sir Clive was speaking during a two-day emergency meeting of the Cricket Strategy and Officiating Committee, which sought to identify contributing factors to the team’s performance woes.
