WEST INDIES SUFFER HISTORIC LOSS TO NEPAL IN T20I

Nepal created history as they beat West Indies by 19 runs in Sharjah on Saturday, for their first-ever win against a full member across formats.

They have taken a 1-0 lead in their three-match T20 International series.

The Nepalese were asked to bat first and made 148 for 8 in their 20 overs, with captain and player of the match Rohit Paudel top-scoring with 38.

There was support from Kushal Malla with 30, against the bowling of Jason Holder with 4 for 20 and Navin Bidaisee with 3 for 29.

The Windies in reply could only muster 129 for 9 in their 20 overs, with Bidaisee top-scoring with 22.

Amir Jangoo and Fabian Allen both got 19.

The second match takes place next Monday at the same venue.

Nepal had beaten Afghanistan in a T20I in 2014, but Afghanistan were an associate back then.
