WHO PROVIDES UPDATE ON OMICRON VARIANT

The Omicron variant of COVID- 19 has been shown to cause less severe disease than Delta but the World Health Organization says it should still be taken seriously.
Director General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus provided the latest update on the unfolding situation on Thursday, the same day Antigua and Barbuda’s Health Ministry announced it had received confirmation of the presence of Omicron in the state.
