WEST INDIES WOMEN MAKE WINNING START TO T20 WORLD CUP

West Indies women had a winning start to the T20 World Cup in Australia, defeating newcomers Thailand women by 7 wickets in Group B action. Thailand women won the toss and elected to bat, but only managed to muster 78 for 9 in their 20 overs. West Indies then overhauled the target, reaching 80 for 3 with 20 balls remaining. Player of the match, West Indies captain Stafanie Taylor guided the Caribbean women to victory with an undefeated 26 to add to impressive bowling figures of 3 for 13.
