Obesity continues to be of great concern to officials within the twin island state of Antigua and Barbuda. Minister of State within the Youth Ministry the Hon. Winston Williams says more and more children are becoming obese and the situation has to be addressed with a sense of urgency.

Williams says a collaborative approach will be taken to deal with childhood obesity. He added that parents and vendors at the schools have a big role to play in the alleviation of obesity among the youth.

The twin island nation recently ranked second in the Caribbean with some 25. 8 percent for adult obesity followed by St. Vincent and the Grenadines with 25.1 percent.
