WORK IN PROGRESS TO RESTORE APUA WATER STORAGE TANK IN BUCKLEY’S

The Antigua Public Utilities Authority is restoring one of its storage tanks, as part of a multi-pronged effort to improve water supply nationwide.

The Buckey’s water storage tank has been in a state of disuse since 2019 because of a leaking base.

The tank is about 40 years old and has a capacity of just over 600,000 imperial gallons.

Public Utilities Minister, Hon. Melford Nicholas and the APUA Water Business Unit’s project mechanical engineer, Bryan Nicholas were on site on Tuesday as work continued at the location.

The APUA has set a timeline of the end of May this year to restore this tank to service.

Minister Nicholas says this is a crucial part of the APUA’s efforts to ensure that it has more storage capacity.
