WORLD HEALTH ORGANISATION POINTS TO POSSIBLE COVID SURGE IN COMING COLDER MONTHS
The World Health Organisation is concerned the coming months could herald an increase in COVID-19 transmission in some parts of the world in the coming colder months.
WHO Director General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus pointed to figures showing a 35 per cent increase in global COVID deaths over the past four weeks, with 15 thousand deaths just last week alone.
Dr Tedros says this is unacceptable especially since tools are available to save lives.
