WTO DIRECTOR-GENERAL URGES OECS STATES TO SPEAK UP ON GLOBAL TRADE TENSIONS

Antigua and Barbuda and fellow vulnerable OECS member states are being urged to let their voices be heard amidst concerns over global trade tensions.

Director-General of the World Trade Organisation, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala made the call as she addressed the 7th OECS Assembly in St Vincent and the grenadines, where tariffs and other trade tensions were among the agenda items.

Her comments came amidst concerns from some OECS states that the global order is increasingly insensitive to the plight of vulnerable small states.
