YASCO SPORTS COMPLEX CERTIFIED BY WORLD ATHLETICS

Antigua and Barbuda’s Yasco Sports Complex has been officially certified by World Athletics. The certification means the freshly-overhauled facility has met all technical requirements for track and field competition. This paves the way for the return of the inter-school track and field competition; it also allows Antigua and Barbuda to host regional and international athletes and vie to stage regional competitions. Mondo officials completed the track in March 2021, signaling the culmination of a collaboration between the Government of Antigua and Barbuda and the Antigua and Barbuda National Olympic Committee dating back to 2017. The Sports Ministry supervised the work while funding was facilitated by the National Olympic Committee. Sports Minister Hon. Daryll Matthew and ABNOC President, Hon. E.P. Chet Greene have welcomed this development.
