Scare at V.C. Bird International Airport

The VC Bird International Airport was the scene of minor chaos and uncertainty for a brief moment Monday afternoon.Information reaching our newsroom suggests that the departure area had to be cleared of passengers waiting to board various aircraft after an alleged breach of security.

Several eye witnesses say the announcement was made over the Public Address (PA) System, which resulted in several persons crowding outside the immigration area. Although details on the event remain sketchy, ABS understands that the passengers were re-screened prior to re- entering the departure lounge.
