SCOLIOSIS CLINIC AT MSJMC #1
Scoliosis patients in Antigua and Barbuda are benefitting from a major collaborative effort.
The World Pediatric Project along with the Ministry of Health teamed up to host a Scoliosis Specialist Clinic at Mount St. John’s Medical Centre.
Last week the hospital began with a screening which continued today leading up to the clinic.
Doctor Claudine Richardson says the goal of the clinic is see as much children who need treatment for the condition treated.
World Pediatric Project-Director of the Scoliosis program for the Caribbean Dr. Chester Sharp says the condition is very common.
The Doctor says the way scoliosis is treated depends on the size of the curvature and whether the spine is still growing.
