ROLL-OUT OF PUBLIC COVID-19 VACCINATION BEGINS
COVID-19 vaccination will start for members of the general public on Monday, 1st March at four sites. These are Villa Polyclinic, Glanvilles Polyclinic, Multi-Purpose Cultural Centre and Sir Novelle Richards Academy. The sites will be opened at 10am on Monday, March 1 and 9am to 3:30pm daily as of Tuesday, March 2. The Health Ministry says priority will be given to those over 65 years old and people who have already registered to receive the jab. The Ministry says individuals are required to present their identification cards at the vaccination sites.
Arrangements have been made for a mobile unit to vaccinate shut-ins and those who are physically unable to visit any of the four vaccination sites. Meanwhile, staffers at all government departments and statutory organizations are to receive their COVID-19 vaccination on the job site. The roll-out of the programme for government ministries will begin on Tuesday, March 2.
The Health Ministry also says arrangements have been made for the vaccination of teachers through the Ministry of Education, while vaccination continues for frontline including members of Police and Defence Forces, Immigration Department and those in the nursing homes.
