PM BROWNE HOLDS BILATERAL TALKS WITH CHINESE DELEGATION; TO VISIT LATER THIS YEAR
Prime Minister the Hon. Gaston Browne is expected to visit the People’s Republic of China later this year.
This was confirmed as Prime Minister Browne and Housing Minister, the Hon. Maria Browne met with a delegation from China, ahead of the opening ceremony of the 44th regular meeting of Caricom Heads in The Bahamas on Wednesday.
The head of government also told the Chinese officials Antigua and Barbuda could be a constructive interlocutor or intermediary, to help to resolve challenging issues both regionally or globally.
He again emphasized the tremendous assistance received from China, and is ready to move both countries’ partnership to the “next level in order to advance Antigua and Barbuda’s development agenda”.
Director General Cai Wei, who led the delegation from the People’s Republic of China Department of Latin America and Caribbean Affairs, of China’s Foreign Ministry, welcomed this country’s unwavering support.
