SOCIAL SECURITY PENSION AGE COULD INCREASE BEYOND 65; FRESH CALL TO INCREASE BIRTH RATE

Antiguans and Barbudans are being urged to have more children and have them in the country.
The country’s aging population means the ratio of active social security contributors to pensioners is below what it should be.
This means the social security retirement age will likely increase further, after it reaches 65 in two years’ time.
