No agreement over VOIP
CMC –Caribbean telecommunication ministers and service providers Tuesday failed to agree on how best to deal with Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP) platforms such as Viber, with the providers complaining over the lost of financial resources.
The providers, such as the Irish-based Digicel and the British telecommunications giant, Cable and Wireless, which operates in the Caribbean under the LIME brand, say VOIPS users use their data resources without paying and in some markets, access to these VOIP through cellular data has been blocked.
