Prime Minister, Hon Gaston Browne, is making a further move to cement his personal relationship as well as that of his new government with the people of Barbuda.
PM Browne, accompanied by his wife, Maria and his youngest son and other family members, journeyed to Codrington today to spend the New Year’s holiday in Barbuda.
He says the visit is a demonstration of his commitment to the people of Barbuda and his desire to share his time with them.
He says starting off the New Year in Barbuda sends a signal that he is a prime minister for all the people of the twin-island state. He says he made a promise to the people of Barbuda during the campaign to bring them front and centre in all developmental plans for the country.
Last Christmas, Browne … accompanied by senior members of the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party … journeyed to Codrington to distribute food packages to the people.
A contingent from the Barbuda Council welcomed the Prime Minister and his party to Codrington. Minister of Barbuda Affairs and parliamentary Representative, Hon. Arthur Nibbs says he is happy that the Prime Minister decided to spend the New Year’s holiday in Barbuda. He says this is a continuation of PM Browne’s vision for the people and he is thankful that the Prime Minister is not just a man of woods…but a man of deeds.
