Barbudans To Consider The Robert DeNiro Tourism Project
The multi-million dollar tourism project planned for Barbuda will go before the people of the sister island on Thursday.
Barbuda Affairs Minister, Hon. Arthur Nibbs, said the meeting is open to all residents in Barbuda and it is designed to provide a forum for them to hear firsthand the scope and the details of the project.
Last month, the government announced that American movie icon, Robert De Niro has teamed up with the son the late Kerry packer, James Packer, and that they are proposing to take over the property formerly known as K-Club.
They plan to acquire additional lands and to invest more than 250 million dollars in a major tourism development.
Nibbs said the people of Barbuda are to indicate whether or not they want the project…before discussions with the group continue.
