The Cuban Ambassador Applauds US President Barack Obama’s Decision To Remove Cuba From The List Of State Sponsors Of Terrorism

Cuba’s Ambassador to Antigua and Barbuda, His Excellency Gustavo Veliz Olivares, is applauding the decision by U.S President Barack Obama to remove Cuba from the list of countries that sponsor terrorism.

But according to the Ambassador, Cuba should not have been on the list in the first place.

The Ambassador says Cuba has been the victim of terrorism…rather than a sponsor.

He says Cuba has paid a high price due to terrorism. These include the 1976 downing of a Cubana Airlines jet that took 73 lives. Additionally, the ambassador notes that over 3,000 Cubans have died and another 2,000 injured by terrorist acts against the Caribbean country.

Friday April 17, is the 54th anniversary of the failed Bay of Pigs invasion, considered by many Cubans as an act of terrorism against their country.
