Prime Minister Gaston Browne Appeals To Bank Employees Not To Jeopardize The Local Economy
Prime Minister, Hon. Gaston Browne is calling on staff of the commercial banks in the country…to ignore a call for industrial action from the Antigua and Barbuda Workers Union.
PM Browne says the strike action planned for Wednesday would harm a very fragile banking sector.
Browne cautions the banking staff about what he termed ‘irresponsible action’ and the potential impact on the economy.
The prime minister says he is amazed that staff of the ABI Bank, which his government is now trying to save, is now threatening to close the bank.
