Cabinet Clears Arrears With Sembcorp To Guarantee An Increase In Water Supply For Residents

Water consumers on Antigua can look forward to a more consistent supply of water with the introduction of new arrangements with Sempcorp.

In his weekly report on Cabinet, Chief of Staff, Lionel Max Hurst, says the government has agreed to clear off recent arrears to the company to guarantee the water supply.

Cabinet was informed that the supply of water to many communities was hindered by several factors. These include leaks, blockages and cracks in pipes taking water to consumers. These challenges were compounded by a decrease in production from Sempcorp.
Following the payments the company is expected to resume full production of water.
