Accreditation a top priority for the Antigua State College
Accreditation for the Antigua State College (ASC) is high on the agenda, despite numerous challenges. Principal Hyram Forde says although the college is a recognized institution there is a need for the Antigua State College to get to the state of accreditation. Forde says it’s within the State College’s broad goal and vision to become accredited but realizes that it will be a long process before it can come to fruition. He says the relevant authorities will have to look at the institution’s infrastructure, quality of faculty, programme offerings and conduct a self study.
The ASC principal says that more teachers qualified at the PhD level are needed for the college, along with a long list of infrastructure improvements before accreditation could be achieved.
