Anglicans celebrate black history month 2020
The Anglican community here in Antigua and Barbuda began the month of February with a celebration dedicated to Black History Month.
Members of the congregation donned the celebrated colours associated with Africa as a reminder of our roots.
Black History month was started in the United States but has spread throughout the diaspora to bring recognition to important events and personalities that have contributed to the advancement of the race.
Not only churches but schools as well are expected throughout the month to host special programmes that will celebrate our heroes and the many highlights of our development.
During service at the St. John’s Cathedral this morning Dean, the Very Reverend Ernest Flemming, used his sermon to acknowledge the importance of remembering our history.
