ANTIGUA & BARBUDA TO RENEW WTO TRADE SETTLEMENT EFFORTS WITH USA
Director of International Trade Joy Marie King has confirmed efforts will soon be renewed to secure settlement against the USA meted out by the World Trade Organization (WTO).
King says negotiation will soon begin with the new political administration in the United States as previous endeavours were stymied during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.
This country won the right to compensation in the Internet Gambling Dispute of $21 million annually, after the WTO judges upheld its complaint that U.S. laws were discriminatory in 2005.
The ongoing case has exposed limitations in the WTO system as small countries have little leveraging power to recoup losses.
