Antigua gets ABST Reduction for the Christmas Season
Once again, the government has granted the highly anticipated reduction in the Antigua and Barbuda Sales Tax (ABST) to improve purchasing power during the Christmas season. The 10 percent discount will apply to specific items in stores and supermarkets.
Finance and Economy Minister, Harold Lovell, says the reduction will assist consumers to make purchases at an affordable price. The ABST reduction begins Saturday and ending on Tuesday, Christmas Eve.
He urges shoppers to take advantage of the deals and discounts.
The announcements makes it the second consecutive year in a row that the government has reduced the sales tax to benefit local consumers for Christmas.
