ANTIGUAN RECEIVES PRESTIGIOUS AWARD IN CANADA

Antiguan Zoe Walwyn, a 2024 graduate of the Lincoln Alexander School of Law, has been awarded the 2024 Justice Rosalie Silberman Abella prize by the Royal Society of Canada. This prestigious prize is given to law graduates expected to make significant contributions to equity and social justice.

Walwyn’s commitment to social justice was reflected in her work as a research assistant on reproductive rights and health equity, her leadership in the Black Law Students’ Association and her role in co-founding the law school’s pardons clinic.

Walwyn expressed gratitude for her law school experience and the impact she hopes to make in her future legal career. She is quoted as saying, “This award is particularly meaningful, and I’m very grateful. I want to ensure that the people I work with feel seen and heard, and I intend to approach my future clients with empathy and kindness.”
