The President of the Antigua and Barbuda Union of Teachers Ashworth Azille has broken his silence since he resigned from the helm of the union on Monday.
Azille who spent 7 years as President of the A&BUT says it was time to move on.

Azille adds he went in the position as President of the body being cognizant of the need to maintain his humility and integrity and he is satisfied at the exit point those two things are still in place.

The Former A&BUT President says no one individual is bigger than an organization so he’s opted to clear the way for new elections to take place and to allow someone else to take over the reins of the body.
Azille says currently there is a most capable team in place at the union who will see the affairs through until a new president is elected. Noting the focus for the union remains on navigating the way for job security for teachers.
