CALLS FOR INCREASED PRESENCE FOLLOWING COUNTRY’S SECOND MURDER FOR 2022
There’s a call for increased police presence in the area where a fatal stabbing occurred in St John’s last evening.
Police have identified the homicide victim as 36-year-old Canadian Christopher Smithers who lived in Friars Hill Development.
ABS News understands Smithers visited Antigua on vacation in 2011 after completing university in his native Canada, where he had become friends with an Antiguan with whom he studied.
He is reported to have loved the twin-island state and only traveled back to Canada once for his mother’s funeral.
He was a certified personal trainer and had been working at Xtreme Gym.
