CBH Reports Success In Its Mosquito Eradication Efforts As It Prepares To Commission A New Fogging Machine
Amid continued concerns about the abundance of mosquitoes in Antigua and Barbuda, health officials are intensifying their efforts to keep the pests under control.
The department has received a new mounted fogging machine from the Pan American Health Organization to assist in their ongoing fight against the Zika virus.
According to Chief Health Inspector Lionel Michael, the machine, will be commissioned shortly, and is more effective than the ones currently being used by the department.
He says this will add to the vector control measures that have been undertaken thus far.
Michael adds however that their data exercises show there is a decrease in the level of Aedes aegypti mosquito infestation in various communities.
