Country Records 2nd Road Fatality
Antigua and Barbuda has recorded its second road fatality for the year 2014.
A 20 year old man, who was struck by a vehicle while riding a bicycle on Queen Elizabeth Highway, has succumbed to his injuries and died at the Mount St. Johns Medical center early Wednesday morning.
Last Friday, Andrea Hughes, was struck by a vehicle in the vicinity of Weatherills. She died a day later at the hospital.
Police investigations into both matters are still ongoing.
The Antigua and Barbuda Road Safety President, Alice Ho-Tack, is expressing condolences and says pedestrians are often killed in traffic accidents.
Last year, some four pedestrians died on the nation’s roads.
