CSEC EXAMS TO PROCEED AS SCHEDULED AFTER EMERGENCY TALKS

The Caribbean Examinations Council has agreed to administer the regional examinations as scheduled, following consultations with ministries of education from across the region this morning.
There had been mounting concern about a possible disruption after news surfaced on Wednesday of the theft of some examination papers from a school in Jamaica.
CXC says to date, there has been no confirmation that the secured fire-proof cabinet containing examination papers, has been compromised.
A release issued Thursday afternoon also says as the police continue their investigations in Jamaica, CXC and ministry officials from across the region will continue to monitor the security of the regional examinations.
