Antigua and Barbuda and other Caribbean countries are on high alert as weather experts predict a record-breaking Atlantic hurricane season for 2024, as various phenomena are set to create a perfect storm.
Colorado State University researchers foresee an extremely active year, with a forecast of 23 named storms, 11 hurricanes and 5 major hurricanes of 115-mph winds or stronger.
Forecasters say the 2024 outlook was the most extreme prediction for named storms that the University has ever issued.
