FORECASTERS EXPECT RECORD-BREAKING HURRICANE SEASON

Antigua and Barbuda and other Caribbean countries are on high alert as weather experts predict a record-breaking Atlantic hurricane season for 2024, as various phenomena are set to create a perfect storm.
Colorado State University researchers foresee an extremely active year, with a forecast of 23 named storms, 11 hurricanes and 5 major hurricanes of 115-mph winds or stronger.
Forecasters say the 2024 outlook was the most extreme prediction for named storms that the University has ever issued.
Meteorologist at the Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Services, Orvin Paige explains the factors which are driving the ominous forecast.
