GOVERNMENT SAYS THERE IS NO EVIDECE ALEXANDER MAVRODI OWNS ALFA NERO
The government says no claim has been received by the authorities here from a Mr Alexander Mavrodi, suggesting he is the owner of the Alfa Nero super yacht.
The administration issued a media release Monday afternoon seeking to clear the air, amidst what it says are misleading stories, appearing in online news portals of dubious journalistic standard.
The government says it has been advised by international law enforcement agencies that the beneficial owners of the vessel are the Russian oligarch, Andrey Grigoryevich Guryev and his daughter, Yulia Guryeva-Motlokhov.
It also says the suggestion that the vessel is owned by a Mr Alexander Mavrodi is unsubstantiated, indicating that it is either a hoax by which senior members of the united progressive party have been duped, or it is a deliberate fabrication.
The administration says if a Mr Alexander Mavrodi exists, and he is the verifiable beneficial owner and can substantiate his claim, he is free to advance his claim by March 31.
A 10-day notice has been issued, beyond which the vessel will be auctioned.
