HIGH SPEED CHASE ENDS WITH ONE IN CUSTODY

MORE DETAILS EMERGE ABOUT DRAMATIC POLICE CHASE IN ST JOHN’S

A man remains in police custody as investigations continue into a dramatic high speed police chase Saturday evening. Police say the incident started to unfold shortly after 7 when the driver of a grey Toyota Vitz attempted to elude law enforcers after allegedly committing a traffic infraction. The driver crashed into the back of another vehicle on Independence Drive, while a bus driver crashed into a tree in a desperate attempt to avoid a head-on collision with the Vitz.

The Vitz reportedly crashed into a concrete wall on Upper Bishopgate Street as police continued to give chase. The driver and passenger reportedly fled on foot; a man was later apprehended. We will continue to provide updates on the police probe into the incident.

A High speed chase has left one man in police custody after he tried to elude lawmen on Independence Avenue. The driver of a Toyota Vitz in his attempt to get away struck several vehicles on the busy street. The Police are investigating the matter.
