Man Nabbed at Airport with Cannabis Seeds

The police arrested and charged 57yrs-old De-Cheney Wentworth Joseph of England for possession of 30 Grams of Cannabis.
Joseph was apprehended at the V.C. Bird International Airport late Thursday afternoon, attempting to smuggle a quantity of Cannabis Seeds into the country. Officers attached to the Narcotics Department made the arrest after he arrived on the island aboard a Virgin Atlantic Flight, VS-33. The seeds were found concealed inside his luggage.
Joseph, who has dual citizenship status, is originally of Fort Road, but migrated to England since he was a toddler. He is due before the court on Monday.

Meanwhile, in an unrelated incident, police arrested and charged 35yrs-old Garvin Roberts Paredes of Skerritt’s Pasture for cultivation of Cannabis. Officers attached to the Narcotics Department, armed with a Search Warrant, carried out a searched on Paredes premises and found 10 Cannabis plants growing. The plants were uprooted and taken to the station. The incident occurred shortly after 8:00 am on Friday.
