Nation set to Benefit from USAID Climate Change Project
Antigua and Barbuda is set to benefit from a 750 thousand dollar USAID Climate Change Project.
The Green House experimental initiative will be located at Diamonds Estate.
In his contribution to the 2014 Budget debate in the Lower House, Minister of Agriculture, Lands, Housing and Fisheries, Hilson Baptiste outlines the benefits of the program to the twin island state.
He adds that another form the model will also be implemented on the sister isle and hopes that this will create a synergy.
The Antigua and Barbuda Agricultural Forum for Youth (ABAFY) through the government of Antigua and Barbuda and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) will benefit from 25 million dollars to assist with the cultivation and production of a 100 acre farm.
Baptiste says plans for this project are at an advanced stage and will be finalized shortly.
