National Security Minister stresses the need for Co-operation
Minister of National Security Dr. the Hon. Errol Cort emphasizes the need for cooperation between law enforcement and the community.
Cort was at the time thanking the National Parks Authority for its support in outfitting the new home of the Joint Task Force.
In the wake of a spate of serious crimes in the twin island state, the Joint Task Force was established on 5th January, 2013 with its then home base at Camp Blizzard.
Its members are drawn from the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda and the Antigua and Barbuda Defense Force, with the Police taking the lead role.
The Task Force was mandated to achieve the reduction of the impact of gun related crimes, the reduction of the fear of crime, and the successful execution of Search Warrants based on credible intelligence and available information.
