Officials At The National Archives Appeal For Help In Addressing Derelict Conditions Affecting The Structure
The Director of the National Archives is encouraging Antiguans and Barbudans to develop an interest in the materials that lie behind the walls of the institution.
The reference facility houses documents dating as far back as 1695, including slave registers, church records, land registry files, among other historical documents.
Joseph Prosper, in an interview with ABS News, says residents have deserted the National Archives and makes it clear that there is great need to educate the public on the importance of the Archives and its contents.
