PARLIAMENT TO DEBATE PROPOSAL FOR 40% INCREASE IN VEHICLE LICENSING FEES

Cabinet is proposing a 40-per cent increase in vehicle licensing fees across the board.

The move is aimed at creating a dedicated funding mechanism for extensive repairs to roads and drains nationwide.

Chief of Staff in the Prime Minister’s Office, Ambassador Lionel Hurst made the disclosure in response to questions from ABS during Thursday’s post cabinet media briefing.
