PFIZER-BIONTECH COVID-19 VACCINE RECEIVES FULL FDA APPROVAL

The United States Food and Drug Administration has granted full approval to the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine, the first jab to receive such imprimatur.

This comes after the vaccine was initially given emergency use authorization, a provision allowed in a health crisis.

In a statement, the FDA says it has reviewed additional data which has found the vaccine to be 91 percent effective and safe.

The development comes on the eve of the roll-out of the Pfizer vaccine in Antigua and Barbuda for individuals 12 years and older.
