PM BROWNE ASSURES OF STRENGTH OF LOCAL BANKING SECTOR AMID GLOBAL JITTERS

The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank Monetary Council is moving to set up a mechanism to protect bank deposits across the currency union.
Prime Minister and Finance Minister Hon. Gaston Browne provided the update on Thursday at a Chamber of Commerce Business luncheon, amidst recent banking jitters in the United States and Europe.
The prime minister has also sought to allay any fears about the strength of this country’s banking sector.
