PM Spencer Extends Condolences to the Family of Canon Hodge
On the passing of Canon Bernard “Brother B” Hodge, Prime Minister, Dr. the Hon. Baldwin Spencer and his wife Jackie, have expressed condolences by letter to Bishop Brooks, Members of the Anglican Community in Antigua and Barbuda and the Diocese of North East Caribbean and Aruba.
In his letter, the nation’s leader wrote that the Anglican Communion have truly lost a champion of the church and a servant of the people as Hodge made a tremendous mark on lives across the region.
Hodge’s work in the church, education, Christian broadcasting and the legislature, he added has gained him a legacy that will long be remembered.
Spencer also wrote that Canon Bernard Hodge had proven to be an exemplary shepherd of the people and also an excellent husband and father.
Throughout his tenure as Chaplain of the Legislature, Canon Hodge epitomized true humility and selflessness and was always willing to carry out his mission.
Spencer concluded that the Legislature has truly lost a great spiritual father.
