Port Manager, Darwin Telemaque, is optimistic that Caribbean countries will soon honour a single economic space.

Telemaque was recently elected as the Chairman of the OECS Port Management Committee at the inaugural meeting of the body. He stressed the importance of streamlining and managing all systems to have seamless transactions from one port to the next.

During the four-day event, held in St. Lucia, matters pertaining to legislative reform, safety and security, infrastructural improvement, and transportation were discussed at length.

Regional strategies were also developed to address these matters in a collective manner. Telemaque explains.

Telemaque says he will work closely with Deputy Chair of the Committee, Wendy Francette-Williams, who is also the general manager of the Grenada Airport Authority.

He is confident that trade facilitation in the region will become easier as each country seeks to introduce new technologies, which will make business easier.
