PRIME MINISTER POURS COLD WATER ON FIRE TRUCK DEAL PROPOSED BY PUTATIVE BUSINESSMAN
Prime Minister Hon. Gaston Browne has rejected claims the government purchased four refurbished fire trucks at a higher cost than what it would have spent on new ones.
The claim was made by a member of the opposition United Progressive Party.
The head of government says the purchase of refurbished fire trucks represents value for money, as he responded to claims that the local businessman could have supplied brand new fire trucks for US$2.3 million.
He told fellow lawmakers in Parliament’s Lower House Tuesday morning he invited the reputed businessman to speak with him at his office.
